The Philosophy of Youth Ministry at First Baptist Church of Weber City, VA: This youth ministry will meet students where they are in their walk with Christ and seek to elevate their relationship with Christ through outreach, visits, encouragement, and, most of all, Bible based teaching and discipleship. It is our goal to increase the number of students reached, to increase the relationship of each student to Christ, to increase the relationship of each student to his or her brothers and sisters in Christ, and increase the relationship of the student to his or her family all through the demonstrated love of Christ and the Word of God.
Wednesday night youth ministry is our weekly meeting on, surprise, Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. We meet in the Youth Room located upstairs in the gym at the First Baptist Church of Weber City, Weber City campus. The first hour each week is dedicated to eating, fellowshipping, and help with homework if needed. Each week we will have supper provided for the teens (pizza, chicken nuggets, and a rotating menu of items), as well as various snacks and drinks during the first hour. Also during the first hour, there are games to play including foosball, pool, and ping-pong. During the second hour, we all gather together in the middle worship area for prayer, worship music lead by Kari White and youth members, and then Bible study. We conclude the meetings at 8:00 PM. All FBC WC Community and WC campus teens and their friends 7th to 12th grade are welcome.
Junior & Senior Bible Study: Every Monday night we meet in different locations with our High School Juniors and Seniors. We are currently going through the Book of John chapter by chapter and will be heading to the Book of Romans when we finish in John. Each week provides take-home reading, “homework” questions to begin our discussion the next week, host parents cook supper for us each meeting, as well as the fellowship and Bible study. The goal of this Bible study is to teach the teens about God through this book of the Bible, but also to help teach the teens how to read the Bible and learn on their own.
High Tide Worship: These special Wednesday nights are when we gather together with other local youth groups to worship together as The Church instead of multiple churches. Each High Tide will include food and drink for all youth, fellowship with other youth groups, worship music, and Bible study and preaching. Any area youth group is invited to join us. If you have questions about attending or hosting a High Tide, please contact Aaron! “A high tide will raise all ships.”
Brumley Cove Camp will be July 22nd through 26th. Cost is $100. This includes lodging and meals for the week. Contact Aaron for more information on Summer camp.
Our Summer Youth Schedule will be posted soon, stay tuned.
Our Unified Safety Policy: When Scott County Schools are closed or release early for weather, all FBC WC ministries will automatically be cancelled for safety.
Alteration of service times and schedules will be announced through the church phone system (276.386.7247), email information and prayer chains (contact Jan at firstname.lastname@example.org to join), as well as various social media outlets such as Facebook and instagram.
